So experiment away, and find your faction that suits your playing style. Whichever you choose, each faction brings a completely different gameplay experience to Total War: ROME II™. Some rely on client-nations or vassals to boost their economic growth, while others are more trade-focussed. Some factions rely more on mercenaries for their military might some prefer to train their own. Players would be wise to keep an eye on such individuals…They play a key role throughout the campaign which can make the difference of winning and losing. You’ll direct the actions of famous characters from history, and if they’re not out in the field commanding your armies, they’ll be politicking in the senate house, or its cultural equivalent. Players will need to work with – and in certain circumstances against – their faction’s internal political system. Some factions are split into a number of playable families, which bring further unique benefits to their base faction traits. Each will have its own dilemmas to face and different styles of army to manage. Each brings unique commercial, military and political strengths, its own agents and political system, and three tech trees representing civic, military and engineering disciplines. In both cases politics are a bit easier than Rome as you don't start as a republic, so don't have that loyalty penalty. You start at war with the Seleucids, but they have problems of their own which usually keep them busy. Their roster is also decent without too much in the way of gimmicks or units needing special strategies, except for chariots, which can be a bit finnicky but also fun.Įgypt are a solid faction with a decent sized unit roster, easy access to food (which makes it easier to build and upgrade buildings,) a central location with different ways you can choose to expand, and their nearest opponents aren't too difficult. Of course, credit goes to the authors of the original mod. It makes all 115 factions of the Grand Campaign playable in campaign as well as in custom battles. I just formatted the HD and reinstalled a fresh version of Windows, reinstalled Rome 2 with my mods, however DEI for whatever reason wont display all the factions. This mod is an update of the old All factions unlocked mod. Once you have the isles secured, you have a solid base to then expand into Gaul and beyond. Been having technical issues since Friday. Iceni start in a corner of the map and you can essentially play a short campaign with them just conquering the British Isles. The other two factions I tend to suggest for new players are the Iceni and Egypt. All Roman factions are positioned in such a way that they can each easily expand into certain areas of the world map, but that is just a suggestion for the player and the default behaviour of the Roman AI a savy player can easily expand any which way and snap up the juicy provinces in the early game (e.g. Think we missed one?
